Plantar Faciitis
Plantar Fasciitis is a condition in which the fibrous plantar fascia ligament found along the bottom of the foot becomes overworked or stretched developing a tear in the tissue resulting in pain and inflammation. Symptoms associated with this consists of stabbing, aching, or burning in the heel of the foot. Your first steps in the morning place pressure on the ligament stretching it and causing pain.
Some causes are due to long hours on your feet, obesity, shoes with little or no arch support, inactivity, flat feet and other varied foot problems. Prolonging treatment can cause the condition to become worse. Overtime you may notice a change in your foot’s mechanics causing additional pain to your knees, hips, or back.
The approach taken by CORRECT-A-STEP is to place CORRECT-A-STEP inserts in your shoes which help to significantly reduce pain and help

A callus is an area of tissue build up which has become thick and hard in response to repeated friction, pressure, or other irritation. When a mass of dead cells develop at the center of a callus it is known as a corn. A common cause of corns or calluses are the weakening of one or more arches of the feet which causes an abnormal gate therefore causing uneven wear and a breaking down of the shoe.
CORRECT-A-STEP Supports are designed to equalize the pressure on the ball of the foot to help control the abnormal movement and eliminate the friction and pressure that causes the calluses or corns. Once the pressure has been reduced and the motion has been controlled, the calluses and corns will slowly decrease.

Norval and Edith met in 1986 at The Michigan State Fair in Detroit. Norval was selling the Alznner Orthotic for Donald Airey owner of Bio Orthotics International of Dallas Texas. Edith held the position of Administrative Assistant and Office Manager for Roger Anderson a Regional Distributor for Niagara Therapy Equipment for Detroit and Toledo Ohio. Their meeting grew into a friendship, a love affair and a marriage that remains in full bloom today.
Edith’s office management, administrative skills and her accounting background lead her to encourage Norval into working for themselves. Thus, CORRECT-A-STEP was born. Edith longed to return to Alabama and Norval was eager to please her. In September, 1987, they purchased a lovely home with six acres. They have continued to pour their love and energy into their home and CORRECT-A-STEP to this very day.
In 1992, Norval and Edith became members of The Prescription Footwear Association and attended their first annual Symposium in Orlando Florida.

High arches (Pes Cavus) are known to be painful due to an excessive amount of weight that is placed on the ball and heel of the foot. This can lead to calluses on the ball, heel, and even the side of the foot. (A condition known as Pes Cavus can occur in one or both feet at any age.)
CORRECT-A-STEP approaches high arches with the concept of stabilizing the foot. As the high arched individual tends to have several issues that get their attention. I feel the major issue is instability. You may notice an awkward walk or run, hammertoes and or calluses. The higher the arch the more foot fatigue a person may experience. Really high arched individuals have difficulty finding a good fitting shoe, especially in throated boots or shoes. High arches can be the result of a neurological
