About Us

By admin On May 26, 2011 No Comments

Norval and Edith met in 1986 at The Michigan State Fair in Detroit. Norval was selling the Alznner Orthotic for Donald Airey owner of Bio Orthotics International of Dallas Texas. Edith held the position of Administrative Assistant and Office Manager for Roger Anderson a Regional Distributor for Niagara Therapy Equipment for Detroit and Toledo Ohio. Their meeting grew into a friendship, a love affair and a marriage that remains in full bloom today.

Edith’s office management, administrative skills and her accounting background lead her to encourage Norval into working for themselves. Thus, CORRECT-A-STEP was born. Edith longed to return to Alabama and Norval was eager to please her. In September, 1987, they purchased a lovely home with six acres. They have continued to pour their love and energy into their home and CORRECT-A-STEP to this very day.

In 1992, Norval and Edith became members of The Prescription Footwear Association and attended their first annual Symposium in Orlando Florida.

Our Slim Line orthotic enables a natural heel-to-toe rolling of your foot from the support of the longitudinal and transverse arch. This foot cradle supports the (outside) lateral and (inside) medial aspect of the foot neutralizing the heel, assisting in its upright position. The semi-flexible design helps provide active cushioning to prevent sore feet, slackness, fatigue, and pain in the knees, hips and spinal column. Overtime the efficiency of your feet is improved and the muscles and ligaments are no longer overstressed.

Even after long use they remain active, resilient, and continue to offer  support and comfort for 12-15 years. Resistant to foot sweat, unbreakable and abrasion-proof.  The thin design makes it easy to fit in any dress shoe, boot, or loafer without changing shoe size.

The Stabilizer can reduce ankle, knee, hip and back pain. It is highly recommended for flat feet and high arches.

The Stabilizer is made of a long lasting material that absorbs no odor, antifungal, and will not flatten out. Durability is 12-15 years. Adjustment time for all day wearing is 7 to 10 days.  Be patient. Allow the stabilizer to work its magic.

High Arches

By admin On May 26, 2011 No Comments

High arches (Pes Cavus) are known to be painful due to an excessive amount of weight that is placed on the ball and heel of the foot. This can lead to calluses on the ball, heel, and even the side of the foot. (A condition known as Pes Cavus can occur in one or both feet at any age.)

CORRECT-A-STEP approaches high arches with the concept of stabilizing the foot. As the high arched individual tends to have several issues that get their attention. I feel the major issue is instability. You may notice an awkward walk or run, hammertoes and or calluses. The higher the arch the more foot fatigue a person may experience. Really high arched individuals have difficulty finding a good fitting shoe, especially in throated boots or shoes. High arches can be the result of a neurological
